A heartfelt ANZAC Day service at goodnewslutheranschool this morning 🙏
The school captains did a commendable job leading the service, and it was so lovely to see the students, staff and broader Good News community come together to pay their respects.
The students at Good News are known for being kind and respectful — and that was on full display today.
A special mention to Isaac, who delivered a beautiful Last Post and Rouse 🎺
It is so important that the younger generation understand the sacrifice of those who paid the ultimate price.

It was an honour to attend the ANZAC ceremony at Corinda State High School today, alongside School Captains Genevieve and Lexi, Cultural Captains Michaela and Sana, and a proud flight of cadets 🙏
John Jennings opened the ceremony with a stunning performance on the bagpipes — a solemn and moving start to the service 🎵
The ceremony was delivered with great respect and dignity, reflecting the deep significance of this day. I was particularly struck by the leadership shown by the students, whose contributions highlighted the enduring importance of courage, mateship and remembrance that define the ANZAC spirit.
My sincere thanks to Principal Ross Bailey, as well as the dedicated staff and students, for hosting such a meaningful and memorable commemoration.

It was an honour to join the community at the beautifully run Oxley Memorial this morning for a moving ANZAC Day service.
Matt Conway always delivers a stirring rendition of the ode, I find it so powerful to listen each time. These words reminded us all why we pause on this day.
And I was personally honoured to sing the New Zealand national anthem in honour of the Kiwi Anzacs in my family. It is always so special to me to sing that anthem, especially on Anzac Day.
We will remember them.

Such a meaningful morning at the Centenary RSL Sub-Branch for their ANZAC Day service.
I was so moved by the youth address delivered by Henry and Nathaniel from Middle Park State School, who spoke beautifully about what ANZAC Day means to them. It gives you so much hope for the future.
It was great to see so many of our local school leaders in attendance, representing their schools with pride.
Chief among them was the beautiful singing from Charlotte and Eva, the Centenary State high students who sang the national anthems. Not to mention the absolutely flawless bugler!
A huge thank you to the Centenary RSL committee and volunteers who put so much into making this service happen every year.

It was lovely to join the Darra RSL Sub-branch for their ANZAC Day breakfast this morning 🙏
There’s something really special about sitting down with veterans, service personnel and locals to share a meal and reflect on the sacrifice of those who served.
It’s always wonderful to see members of our local Vietnamese community and their veterans in attendance — a beautiful reminder that the ANZAC spirit transcends all backgrounds and brings our whole community together.
A special thank you to my dad, Dave Pugh, who laid a wreath on my behalf at the service 💛
Thank you to the Darra RSL and President Grant for their warm hospitality, as always.

What an incredible turnout for the Corinda Dawn Service.
Our community stood together to honour the courage, sacrifice and mateship of all who have served — and continue to serve — our country.
The Brigidine Choir were absolutely beautiful, and I was honoured to sing both the New Zealand and Australian national anthems alongside them 🎶 no matter how many times I sing the anthems, it always makes me a little bit emotional on ANZAC day, acknowledging the sacrifice of those who paid the ultimate price serving our country.
A heartfelt thank you to the RSL, Operations Coordinator Melissa, and the fantastic committee and volunteers who make this service possible year after year, as well as the wonderful Westside HQ volunteers too!

The Festival of Chariots is such a joyous celebration for the ISKCON community, and it was an absolute delight to join in at King George Square alongside my colleagues margienightingalemp and charismullenmp! 🎉
Their vegetarian food is always absolutely delectable, and the church fed thousands of people that day, completely free of charge! What a beautiful thing to do 🙏💛

Our hardworking QTU members came to meet with me recently as part of their ongoing efforts to advocate for better wages and conditions for Queensland teachers 📚
Prior to the last election, they were promised nation-leading wages and conditions by the Crisafulli Government — but during the current round of enterprise bargaining, that simply hasn't happened.
Our teachers are responsible for educating our most precious resource — our children. I'm continuing to call on the Crisafulli Government to listen to teachers and deliver what was promised 👏 ... See MoreSee Less
