Happy Labour Day! 🙌
I love catching up with everyone at the march, it's fantastic to hear about what's happening and the different union initiatives everyone is working on.
Now more than ever, unions are important to ensure our rights in the workplace are upheld and improved. I'm proud to be Labor, and I'll always fight for better wages and your rights at work 💪
Thank you to the organisers for another wonderful event — it's a huge undertaking but absolutely worth it to celebrate the achievements of workers. And thank you to the thousands who turned out!
I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend — and if you're working today, I hope you're enjoying your penalty rates! 💛 ... See MoreSee Less

Scouting on the Green is such an important way for MPs to meet with scouts and find out firsthand why scouting continues to be such a valuable activity for our young people ⚜️
It was so much fun checking out the makeshift tent they'd put up with some of the young scouts — what legends! 🏕️😄
Thank you for having me 👏

Yesterday, 30 April, marked the anniversary of the fall of Saigon.
For many in our Vietnamese community, this is a deeply significant and emotional day. It is a time to reflect on loss, displacement, and the strength it took to rebuild lives here in Queensland.
I’m grateful to stand alongside our local Vietnamese community in remembrance, and to recognise the incredible contribution Vietnamese Australians have made to our state.
Thank you to Kieu Oanh Do, President of the Vietnamese Community in Australia – Qld Chapter, for organising this moving ceremony

This is a longer post — but it's important to me.
About six weeks ago on a Saturday, I dropped in to see Dad after he asked for a food drop-off. I found him shaking, struggling to stand, and wearing a cardigan even though it was over 30 degrees outside.
I took him straight to the Oxley Urgent Care Clinic, where the fantastic doctors put him on oxygen and called an ambulance. It was pretty scary to see someone who has always been healthy and strong so sick and vulnerable 💔
Dad was diagnosed with Influenza A and a chest infection. He's doing much better now — but it was a strong reminder that the flu is no joke.
That's why I got my flu shot early this year in Parliament. Every year in Queensland, people die from the flu.
Please, please, please, book in with your GP or call your local pharmacy to get your flu shot today 💉💛 ... See MoreSee Less

What do Girl Guides do when they grow up? They become Trefoil Guild members!! 🙌
The Trefoil AGM is one of my favourites for lots of reasons — seeing the decades of service from our amazing Trefoil elders to Guiding is always incredible, but the sensational morning tea doesn't hurt either! 😄🍰
Here's to another year of mentoring our next generation of Girl Guides 💜✨ ... See MoreSee Less

A heartfelt ANZAC Day service at goodnewslutheranschool this morning 🙏
The school captains did a commendable job leading the service, and it was so lovely to see the students, staff and broader Good News community come together to pay their respects.
The students at Good News are known for being kind and respectful — and that was on full display today.
A special mention to Isaac, who delivered a beautiful Last Post and Rouse 🎺
It is so important that the younger generation understand the sacrifice of those who paid the ultimate price.

It was an honour to attend the ANZAC ceremony at Corinda State High School today, alongside School Captains Genevieve and Lexi, Cultural Captains Michaela and Sana, and a proud flight of cadets 🙏
John Jennings opened the ceremony with a stunning performance on the bagpipes — a solemn and moving start to the service 🎵
The ceremony was delivered with great respect and dignity, reflecting the deep significance of this day. I was particularly struck by the leadership shown by the students, whose contributions highlighted the enduring importance of courage, mateship and remembrance that define the ANZAC spirit.
My sincere thanks to Principal Ross Bailey, as well as the dedicated staff and students, for hosting such a meaningful and memorable commemoration.
